A Failure's Road

Success is the highest level of self achievement one could wish to reach, however the path to this destination is as varied as the root system of a century old oak. And there is no correct or incorrect way to travel. Whether it is the shortest and safest road, or the longer yet more enlightening one.

But no longer is the adventurous long road much of an option. And gone are the days, had they ever existed, when failure wasn't such a sin. Thanks to society it is now expected that our youth today take the shortest course to success, following a meticulously planned itinerary, avoiding failure as much as possible.

But who is to say that this itinerary is the right path one should take to succeed, who's to say it's not found through trial and error, and dare I say, failure? One might prefer the planned course, while another might feel inclined to explore and take chances, all the while learning from mistakes. I feel Friedrich Nietzsche said it best--"You have your way. I have my way. As for the right way, the correct way, and the only way, it does not exist."

We shouldn't view failure as the end of the road, or look down upon those who have failed as if they have sinned, or committed some unforgivable crime. We should think of failure as a detour--just another route to ride to success.
